Public Broadcasters International (PBI) is an annual gathering of public service media leaders from around the world.
세계공영방송(PBI) 총회는 전 세계 공영미디어 기관의 수장이 한자리에 모이는 연례회의입니다.
Grounded in the values and responsibilities of public service media, the conference serves as a platform for strategic discussions on key issues, including governance, technological innovation, and the rapidly evolving media landscape.
PBI was established in 1990, and its inaugural conference was held in Toronto through the joint initiative of TVOntario and NHK. Since then, it has been held in major cities around the world.
Today, PBI comprises more than 80 member organisations and is guided by a Steering Committee that helps shape the organisation's direction and ensure its continuity.
The annual conference is hosted on a rotating basis by member organisations from different regions, including Asia, Europe, Africa, and the Americas.
PBI's activities are funded through annual membership contributions. 공영미디어의 공적 가치와 책무를 바탕으로 거버넌스, 기술 발전, 디지털 전환, 지속가능성 등 주요 현안에 대한 전략적 논의를 이어가고 있습니다.
PBI는 1990년 캐나다 토론토에서 TVOntario와 NHK의 주도로 출범했으며, 현재 80여 개 공영미디어 기관이 회원으로 참여하고 있습니다.
PBI는 주요 회원 기관으로 구성된 운영위원회(Steering Committee)의 조율 아래 운영되며, 총회의 연속성과 발전 방향을 지속적으로 관리하고 있습니다.
연례 총회는 아시아, 유럽, 북미, 남미, 아프리카를 비롯한 각 지역의 회원 기관이 순회 방식으로 주관하며, 운영 재원은 회원 기관의 연간 회비를 통해 마련됩니다.
